The Simple Plan of Salvation
To be saved
is really very simple. The Bible, which is the absolute Truth from God,
makes it very clear what we must do to be saved. The Bible says in
Romans 3:23 that all have sinned. Everyone is a sinner or has broken
God's law.
Because of
that sin, there is a penalty. God is a holy and just God and because He
is, He must deal with the sin. Romans 6:23 says that the wages of sin is
death. This death is eternal separation from God in a literal place
called hell. Hell is a place of torment, pain and eternal burning. It is
the destination for all those who do not have an answer for their sin.
But there
is an answer. It is found in Jesus Christ. The Bible says that, "God
commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us." Jesus went to the cross to pay for our sins so we would not
have to pay for them ourselves in hell.
The payment was made through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and there is only one thing we must do to have that payment applied to our account. Each person must believe on Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Salvation
is not joining a church, getting baptized or being good. Salvation is
trusting only in the shed blood of Jesus Christ to cover your sins.
Note this wonderful promise in Romans 10:11 "For whosover believeth on Him shall not be ashamed." You can genuinely be saved today if you will place your faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for your sins.
